Halloween Fun

Today, work sponsored a Halloween party.  I didn’t dress up in an elaborate costume because I am going to the pool (and ride my bike – so I have to limit the size of costume) afterward.  I threw on Steve’s UW Hocky Jersey and was a UW Badger fan.  Considering there are actually MANY UW [...]

I just got a fabulous email from our Team Toyota leader.  It mentions that the season has been extended until December 31.  Also, for those of us who fulfilled our obligated races – we are welcome back in 2008!
Looks like I will be sporting the “Toyota” name again next year.
Uh….Steve….are you ready for more time [...]

Good Kharma

Today I accompanied two friends / co-workers to Starbucks to catch up on life.  I opened the door for everyone, including one of the baristas who was taking out the garbage.  As a thank you, he gave me a certificate for a free coffee.
Good kharma – pass it on!

I had my second swim class today.  It went well – I am tired!  The Monday and Wednesday instructor makes us get out and do two “walking lunges” laps around the pool.  Holy cats!  I wasn’t hurting as much as some – but my legs will be ready for next Tri season after a few [...]

Today was another fun 10k in our neighborhood. The race was within the VA grounds (who knew you could make a 10k all within that area??) – and with the “misting” of weather we had yesterday, the sky was blue and the temps were warm.
Steve and I awoke early, got ourselves to the race [...]

Indoor Training

As many know, Southern CA is ablaze.  Los Angeles proper (the actual city) is pretty safe.  May I quote my husband by saying, “It’s the one time you want to be happy we’re living in the concrete jungle…brush fires won’t get to us.”  We’ll be in trouble when the earthquakes come – but safe from [...]

New Tri Shorts

I just received my new Tri Shorts that match my LATC (LA Tri Club) top.  They are Louis Garneau – and they match perfectly.  I am giddy (let’s hope they fit!!).  The cool thing – Paul at LATC hand delivered them to my work.  I asked for them Friday and he brought them today.  Very [...]

Today was the St. John’s Santa Monica 10,000 (10k). Steve awoke early with me and was the perfect support crew. I dressed in my Toyota “Engine of Change” gear again and took to the beautiful streets of Santa Monica. It is a relativity small race – a couple thousand, I would guesstimate.
This race path is [...]

Gadgets are fun!

Today was errand-running day. Steve went to work to finalize his demo reel while I registered for tomorrow’s 10k.  While I was out and about, I decided to stop by REI to check out the CycleOps Magneto Trainer.  Low and behold, it followed me home…along with a heavy duty bike pump (big bro will [...]
