Tricked out!

This week was a wonky one. I was back to the weekly spinning class – and finished up my final “Swimming for Triathletes” class. The final class included a filmed underwater review of every single student. It is a bit nerve-wracking to know I was filmed – but it did instill the [...]

Spirit of the Marathon

Super Husband and I just watched the inspiring movie “Spirit of the Marathon”.
It is an amazing, touching documentary that follows pro marathoners and marathon virgins alike.
We really enjoyed the emotional journey that each athlete takes. Also, how very personal each step of every marathoner’s journey is….
To anyone who has done a marathon, thinking about [...]

Step it Up

Today I finally did it…..I am now “clipless”.  (Which, oddly enough means I DO have clips as pedals).
Super Husband and I had went to have my ride looked at – a little tune-up.  While we were there we looked at shoes.  It became quickly apparent that the person helping me did not know much about [...]

The tubes are the type with the “slime” inside – the bike shop mentioned they’re great and highly recommended them.
Ok – sounds good, [...]

Lappin’ it Up

Last night I had Masters Swim and it felt great to be back in the pool. I cranked out 51 laps in 1 hour, 20 minutes. That included kicking, pulling, breast stroke, and freestyle. The kicking is still very slow – but it’s a great workout combined with everything else.
We did drills [...]

New Tri Shorts

I just received my new Tri Shorts that match my LATC (LA Tri Club) top.  They are Louis Garneau – and they match perfectly.  I am giddy (let’s hope they fit!!).  The cool thing – Paul at LATC hand delivered them to my work.  I asked for them Friday and he brought them today.  Very [...]

Gadgets are fun!

Today was errand-running day. Steve went to work to finalize his demo reel while I registered for tomorrow’s 10k.  While I was out and about, I decided to stop by REI to check out the CycleOps Magneto Trainer.  Low and behold, it followed me home…along with a heavy duty bike pump (big bro will [...]
